Baseball opens GMC play with two wins

Varsity baseball defeated Lakota West on Monday, 10-9. Hamilton got out to an early 5-0 lead, before surrendering the lead in the 5th. Hamilton answered in the bottom of the fifth scoring five runs to take the lead 10-9. 

Senior Clint Moak started the game and pitched 3+ innings of shutout baseball, giving up one hit and striking out seven. Junior Landon Ledford earned the victory in relief. 

Nick Brosius and Cournell Bennett each had two RBI's.

Head Coach Josh Sams earned his victory has Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Hamilton with this Victory. Congrats Josh and your staff.

Game two of  the series was played at Lakota West on Wednesday.

Cournell Bennett-McCoy had a big night  fo the Blue, both on the mound and at the plate. Bennett-McCoy went six innings, giving up one run on the mound, surrendering four and striking out seven while earning the victory. Junior Kaleb Powers earned the save in relief. 

Bennett-McCoy had two hits, including a triple, while Junior Ty Gibson had a double and two RBI's.

 Hamilton has a record of 2-1, and 2-0 in the GMC. Hamilton returns to actions on Thursday as they travel to Oak Hills.
