Hamilton Golf Teams Shine at GMC Championships

The Hamilton Boys and Girls Golf teams recently competed in the GMC Golf Championships at Walden Ponds.

The Boys team had a strong start, sitting in fifth place after day one. While they faced some challenges on day two, they finished in sixth place overall, Hamilton’s highest boys’ finish since 2016. Senior Nathan Brandenburg led the team, shooting an 86 on day one and an 82 on day two to earn second-day all-conference honors. Other team members included Seniors Will Baker, Jackson Taylor, and Jude Yordy, Junior Cooper Oden, and Freshman Nolan Warner.

After several years without a team, the Girls returned strong, also finishing sixth. Sophomore Emery Kuhlman posted rounds of 98 and 94, earning second-team honors. The squad also included Seniors Emili Schappacher and Alana Emory, Junior Maddie Hamilton, and Freshman Bryn Ruhl.

Both teams will continue their seasons at the upcoming Sectional tournament. The Girls will tee off on Tuesday at Walden Ponds, followed by the Boys on Wednesday at Miami Whitewater.
