Softball wins on Opening Day

Hamilton Fastpitch Softball opened the season with a 12-2 victory over Butler County rival Middletown.

Freshman Reese Thieken got Big Blue on the board with a solo homerun in the 2nd inning. This was Theikens first Varsity at bat. She finished the game going 4-4 from the plate, had 3 RBI's, 2 runs, and 2 stolen bases.  Another Freshman, Emili Schappacher added a homerun in the third inning (her 2nd varsity at bat). Junior Maddie Hall, added the third homerun of the game with a 3 run shot in the 4th inning. 

Senior Katelyn Polido went 3-3 and a walk. Polido had 4 stolen bases and scored 3 runs. Senior Jaycee Taylor was 2-3 with an walk and RBI, and Hannah Reynolds was 2-4 with 2 RBI's. 

On the mound, Schappacher made her Varsity Pitching debut as well and gave up 1 hit while striking out 10 and getting her first Varsity Win.
