Cross Country:
The cross country teams competed last Saturday September 2nd at the Loveland Invitational. Both the boys and the girls competed very strongly this weekend with every runner finishing the entire 5K race.
Team captain Robert Garvin crossed the finish line in 21:18 seconds. Robert is a Junior and this was his first varsity race. Girls team captain Abigail Gomez led the girls and finished the race in 31:12 seconds. Sensational Freshman Alexander Reiring also had a great run shortly crossing the finish line after Garvin 22:51.
Other notable Big Blue Competitors this weekend were Ian McLaughlin, Nick Martin, Erich Conover, Greyden Lynch and Diego Rangel, Madyson Preston, Kamauri Kennedy.
Competition will resume this coming Saturday, September 9th at the 49th Mason Invitational.
Volleyball:
The Big Blue Volleyball team started the week out strong by defeating both Northwest and Winton Woods 3-0, 3-0 in crushing fashion before dropping a home match to GMC rival Fairfield 0-3.
Boys Golf:
Big Blue hosted one match this week against Ross, defeating them 167-176. As a team, not only was it our best score of the year, but all six members of the team shot in the 40’s. Leading the way for the Blue were Senior Aiden Hoyte, shooting a 40, and Sophomore Kameron Laboffe, shooting a 41. Hamilton golfers finish the night strong by four members of the team having an Eagle putt on the 9th hole, finishing the hole overall with 1 eagle, 3 birdies, 1 par, and 1 bogey.
The JV team competed in two matches this week, hosting Oak Hills and Badin. Hamilton was defeated in both matches, but posted a very stong showing in both. Leading the way for the Blue were Cooper Oden and Aiden Rogers.
Big Blue Golf has a very week this week: Hamilton will host a Varsity and JV match Monday vs. Talawanda, Varsity will travel to Walden Ponds on Tuesday to take on the Badin Rams, then travel to Oak Hills on Wednesday, before returning home on Thursday to host CCS.
Football
Our Big Blue football team did a great job of keeping it rolling and securing the WIN last Friday over Mason at Home. The DAWG POUND was rocking in the Schwarm. We have guys flying around and making plays which makes everything really fun. I'm very proud of our players. They have had another great week of practice and we are looking forward to competing tonight against Oak Hills. We have three of the top five tacklers in the GMC. CJ Bryant with 33, Gracen Goldsmith has 30, followed by Carter Isaacs with 28. Wyman Carr and Jailen Morris are also tied for first in the GMC with 2 interceptions.
Boys Soccer
Hamilton Boy's Soccer only had a one match last week with a crushing defeat to the Fairfield Indians. Boys have a busy upcoming week with matches Tuesday against Oak Hills, on the road Thursday against Lakota West and Saturday at home against Springfield.
