BIG BLUE sports are in full swing now for the winter season. Please join me in congratulating the following Wings on Brookwood Athletes of the Week. Make sure to support Wings on Brookwood. They do so much for our student athletes. 

Senior Mason Kelley is a member of the boys bowling team and is off to a great start. He is currently in the top 10 in the GMC with a 202.5 average. Mason has a series high 418 and a game high of 223. Mason will be a great leader for the bowling team this season, and we look for him to raise that average over the season. 

Junior Jordan Cooper is a member of the chess team. Jordan was recently named 2nd team all GMC, after his performance in the GMC league chess tournament. Jordan played varsity 2nd Board most of the season and had three wins and two draws against very steep competition. He is a thinker, and takes his time to make smart moves, and actually won a few of his games by running his opponent out of time. We will look forward to seeing him lead the Blue next year in chess.

Senior Julius Knowles is a member of the boys wrestling team. Julius picked up where he left off last season. He is currently 7-0 with 3 pins and this past Saturday recorded his 100 win as a BIG BLUE wrestler. He wrestles in the 120 pound weight class. Last season Julius made it to the Wrestling State tournament and this year we will be looking for him to make a return to Columbus again. 

Sophomore Amaginn Beamon is a member of the girls basketball team. Amaginn scored 18 points in a come from behind victory over Colerain last week, 51-41. She was 6-11 from the field, including 3 three point baskets. Early in the season, she is shooting 50% from behind the three point line and averaging almost 10 points per game. As a sophomore, she is stepping up and working hard for the team.
