Please join us in congratulating this week's Wings on Brookwood Athletes of the Week. We have hit the midpoint of our winter season, and we are seeing some great things from our athletes!

Makiya Smiley - Makiya is a junior who truly represents what a Big Blue cheerleader should be! She works hard in and outside of the classroom, and is a natural leader.  She gives her all every time she takes the court, or the competition mat. She was even recognized by judges at a recent competition and given an award.  Makiya is such an important piece to our program and I appreciate her dedication so much. 

Jett Phillips - Jett is a senior and a newcomer to the Academic Quiz Team and has provided us a dominant 1-2 punch on the Varsity team this year with Liam Steele!  His command of multiple categories makes him indispensable to AQT and is why we will compete for the GMC title this year!  Jett was also a member of the Big Blue Football team this past fall. He is the epitome of a true "student athlete."

Cassidy Miller -  Cassidy is a junior on the girls bowling team. Since her return, Cassidy was a big contributor in our baker games in the WIN vs Sycamore, and did well in our Baker Bash tournament as well.  She bowled a 143 & 181 in the WIN vs Harrison and a 158 & 198 in our Loss to Lakota West. Her average is currently a 160.

Knox Mills -  Knox is a junior on the boys basketball team. This past weekend Knox scored 17 points in a victory over GMC foe Sycamore, knocking down 5 3-point shots. He followed that game with a 25 point performance against Beavercreek. He is a consistent contributor to the Big Blue team, averaging 24 minutes a game, only turning the ball over 1 time a game, and is a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line this season. Hamilton will need his consistency and ability to shoot the 3's to make a tourney run this season.
