Eversole, Ferreras Matos, Jones, and Moore earn this week's Wings on Brookwood Athletes of the Week.
Congratulations to this week's Wings on Brookwood Athletes of the Week. We are midway through the spring season, and we are seeing some great things from our BIG BLUE athletes!
Ismael Ferreras and Daniel Moore are both freshmen on the boys tennis team. Both players started playing tennis in the beginning of March and after only 1 month of playing they won their first tennis match of their careers against Colerain. They continue to be a formidable doubles team and the coaching staff is looking forward to seeing their growth in the sport.
Peyton Eversole is a junior on the softball team. She is currently batting .344, is 2nd in the league in home runs and 8th in league in Runs Batted In. Against Sycamore this week, she was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI’s. In the field, holding down third base, she only has 1 error on the season. We are excited to see what her year end stats look like as she has helped the team to a great start to the season so far.
Maddox Jones is a sophomore on the baseball team. This past weekend against Batavia, Maddox threw a 2 hitter with 4 strikeouts and only allowed 1 run. Overall he has a .88 ERA on the mound. At the plate he is batting .292 with 1 double, 1 triple and 9 RBI’s. Rounding out his statistics, he currently only has 2 errors on the season at third base
